- Set of 72 Patterns
- 41 Double sided cards
- Flash Cards
The questions are either "which completes the pattern" or "which completes the sequence" and the cards feature various levels of difficulty depicting animals, shapes, colors, sizes, positions for patterns, and various activities (eating, going to bed, building a snow man, sending a letter, etc.) for sequences. These are great activities for cognitive development.
My son is 3 years old and while many of the questions age-appropriate for him, some are still very challenging, so I can see the educational value of these cards lasting for a couple of years. The cards can be used with or without the dog-pen, and although the pen makes it more fun, sometimes my son chooses the wrong answers on purpose (or presses answers randomly), because it's fun for him when the dog makes a sad sound. That being said, the price of the set is high enough to include the price of the pen, in my opinion, which is why I give the product 4 stars.

Love these because they can practice on their own. We will be looking to get additional sets. Love watching them learn and growRead Best Reviews of Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr. Cards - Patterns & Sequenci Here
My 4-year-old daughter loves these beginning phonics cards. Some are easier, and some challenge her. You'll need to make sure you purchase the Hot Dots "pen," in regular style, doggy or kitty animal characters available, too. Although she can sit at the kitchen table and work on these alone, I prefer to sit with her and help her learn. Great for preschools, too!Want Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr. Cards - Patterns & Sequenci Discount?
I found one set of these cards at a scholastic warehouse sale and went to amazon for the pen. while searching around I discovered cards for other skill sets. This is a leapfrog concept but not the leapfrog price! My 3yr-old can use this without help and my 2yr-old can with help. You do need the pen for the full effect. Its a great little item for reinforcing the skills we've been learning and has a good variety of higher-order skills for review. The price on amazon was the best I could find as well... at least $3 cheaper then education sites and stores b/c of the free shipping.Great learning tool for my 4 year old grandson. We have previously purchased the ABC and numbers and thought this would add to the collection. He loves to hear the talking dog pen that tells him "Great Job". He sometimes misses an answer just to see what the dog will tell him. Then he selects the right answer and proceeds to tell me how he was just teasing. Great learning tool. Would recommend to anyone who wished to assist his preschooler before they begin kindergarten.
