Buy Sceptre E243CV-FHD 23-Inch LED-Lit 1080p 60Hz HDTV (Chrome) Now
I bought this television to use as a computer monitor and was disappointed at first when I used an HDMI connection. The picture was fuzzy and not clear at all. I hooked it up using a VGA cable at the same resolution (1920 x 1080 or 1080p) and got much better quality. It confused me because I thought the digital signal would be better than analog, but it works!Read Best Reviews of Sceptre E243CV-FHD 23-Inch LED-Lit 1080p 60Hz HDTV (Chrome) Here
Don't waste your time. The color, no matter how we try to adjust it, looks washed out. You have to sit directly in front of the screen in order for it to look okay. The speakers in the TV sound tinny. My old small Panasonic TV was much better than this! Disappointing!Want Sceptre E243CV-FHD 23-Inch LED-Lit 1080p 60Hz HDTV (Chrome) Discount?
I researched this tv and originally bought it from NewEgg. Sceptre has a good reputation as a maker of Computer monitors. It failed within three days. Looked like the power supply fuse blew on an overload. Consumers can't fix this kind of fault. I sent it back.I still wanted it. When Amazon had it at a good price, I still wanted it and bought it.
It has been performing flawlessly so far.
I should mention that Amazon also price matched it later for a refund.Purchased this TV for my relative who's visiting temporarily. I'm looking for a secondary TV and not for long-term use, and this TV fits the bill given the relatively low price at the time of purchase (low $100-ish).
With this TV, you get what you pay for it's a "value" TV, meaning, it does its job, but don't expect to get a super high-quality picture. I didn't try the digital feature, but the analog looks acceptable. It's not as sharp and the color is a bit washed out, but it may just have something to do with the setting.
Keep in mind that this is not Sony, Samsung, Sharp, or those top brand TVs, thus do set a lower expectation, and you'll be happy. This will be a good TV for temporary use, for the kids, kitchen, or for one you'd use sparingly (or if you're still in college).
I got the red one, only because this color was what's on-sale. Surprisingly, the color doesn't look too bad at all. The remote also looks good, and it works OK too.
Good luck with your research and purchase!
