I ordered this in conjunction with the wireless adapter for my LG television, and attempted to hook it up last night. My television was able to stream netflix/vudu at full 1080p, however, this Onkyo wireless adapter wouldn't even connect because the signal apparently was too low, despite fully upgrading the firmware.

I hooked this up to my desktop, and it registered it as having the Atheros AR9271 Chipset, so I found another Wireless USB with an external gain antenna. Granted, It isn't as tiny as this adapter, but I also got a short USB extension cable so I can route it behind my receiver.

The exact model I purchased -ISon Amazon (TP-Link TL-WN722N 150Mbps High Gain Wireless USB Adapter) for 1/3 the price of this and since it uses the same chipset, I am *assuming* it will work. I will reupdate this once I get confirmation of that, but overall, the UWF-1 adapter wouldn't even connect when the router was less than 30 feet away in another room.

***UPDATE***

The alternative adapter I purchased worked flawlessly! I will upload a video once amazon's service works, but look in the comments below for a youtube video.

I am usually not one to read manuals but the English section for this is only two pages so it was worth a gander. The manual clearly states that if your device is close to or around other wireless devices (laptop, roku, PS3, XBOX, Wii, ect.) that you may not get a good signal. There is a very easy solution to this and that is to change the channel on which your wifi is operating. This can be done in your router setup (you might even have to read another manual for that if you are unfamiliar with networking equiptment) and it's pretty easy to do on a computer. Try a few different channels to see which give the best signal in your environment, happy listening to all! And before you go giving such an awesome product a 1-star review make sure you know what you are doing first don't just assume its the product and not you ;)

So i read the manual, plugged it in, used my router passwords and started listening to internet radio. No hassles or headaches, that's five stars in my book.

It's only a wireless adapter for the Onkyo TX-NR609, so there's nothing much to tell.

Hooked it to the receiver and it was identified immediately. However, I couldn't connect it to my wireless network.

Turns out that an updated firmware of the receiver was necessary.

Speed is very good. Streaming radio stations as well as the very cool AUPEO service without any issues on my slow and old Wireless G network connected with 5 Megabit broadband.

Just BTW, for all you buyers out there, if you try updating firmware for the Onkyo receiver from a USB stick, you have to:

1. use a very simple USB stick. The receiver cannot work with SanDisk USB sticks for example (found that the hard way)...

2. Use a FAT32 formatted USB stick. Onkyo won't read NTFS.

So after some trial and error I got the adapter connected and working correctly.

Here are my lessons learned that might help you save a few min.

1. Do the firmware update first via thumb drive or Ethernet connection. (I did thumb worked great.)

2. Note that your WEP password is CAPS sensitive so make sure you use the shift key to enter the letters in CAPS if your WEP password has capitalized letters in it.

3. If you successfully connected your UWF-1 then afterward installed the firmware update and are now receiving a "connection error" when accessing the web services you will have to reenter your connection information all over again for the connection to update correctly.

I'm giving this 4 stars simply because the receiver indicated that I was connected with a signal strength of 50+ which you would assume meant working correctly; though it wasn't connecting to the web services. Only after re-entering my connection information after the firmware update did the receiver A. show 50+ connection and B. accessed the web services.
