Just received today and it is exactly the same pen as the Swann PenCam...at a slightly lesser cost!. First, make sure to charge fully...The orange LED will stop blinking when it is charged. After you disconnect, if the orange light remains on, press and hold the power button at the top of the pen. TO SET TIME AND DATE...google search Swann PenCam and click on one of the first links the direct you to the official Swann website...scroll down to downloads and run the Write Time program while the Pen is plugged into the USB port and update...it's that simple! TO RECORD, press top button ONCE when you're ready! It will turn the pen ON (orange LED) and then begin recording automatically(blue LED)! TO STOP RECORDING press top button once and the LED will turn orange. Once orange, press and hold to turn OFF!

Only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 is because pen seem flimsy! But writes well!

Don't buy this if you want good quality video that is in focus. If you don't care at all about image quality, you'll still have a hard time learning how to operate this device. The instructions in English are so badly translated from Chinese that I'd guess they just used some software and had no one to edit it afterwards. The first instruction reads: "1, In closes down and under the readiness for action presses the button short, according to the pattern switch." Whaa? Bottom line, look at other options.

The only issue I have is that the English instruction looks like it was translated directly from Chinese so the English is garbled and hard to undertand. But fear not! It is so easy to figure out. Just buy it.

Forget about the others say. Just tell them to zip it. The quality of camera pen is superb and better than everything I've seen on the web. The video is fantastic at the cheap price.

Plugged the USB cable to 2 different PCs and 4 USB ports but device wasn't getting detected. Was planning to return it but then tried connecting the device directly without using the cable. Then it was detected, charged it and took some videos and pics. Video quality is OK (it's not a mainstream cam of course). Picture quality is poorer than video. Sound is quite good.

They shouldn't have sent a faulty cable because now I can't see the orange LED when the pen's charging since the LED faces downwards while charging directly without using the cable. Plus the weight of the pen hanging out from the side of the USB port may not be good since it takes about 3 hrs to charge which is quite a long time for a long object to hang from a USB port.
