I bought this for my first AppleTV and once I figured out which of the 20 pieces in the box were meant for my setup, well... I determined due to the shape of my TV's back and the positioning of the vents, none of them worked. No problem, though, I was able to use it on my other television, and it works well. However, I got some velcro tape for the other TV and mounted it with that. That cost five dollars, and works the same. Yeah, this is a neat idea, and it works, but so did the velcro, so I don't see me buying another one anytime soon, even as I add more Apple TVs around the house.

I had a lot of difficult to use the remote control when my Apple TV was under my tv over the table. Now I can use it directing the remote for almost any direction. The clips that comes in the box can fit any tvs, I think. And it fits perfect on the back of my LED Philips 42". I used Apple TV for a few months without a mount, and I was often annoyed how it cluttered up my TV stand. Also, without a mount, the IR signal from the remote was very finicky. The TotalMount obviously fixed the clutter issue, but I was amazed how much more receptive the remote is now. The remote now works from anywhere in the room, and I have to hardly point it at the TV. Apple should just sell this mount along with Apple TV.

Great mount for an Apple TV or an Airport Express. I do wish it it came in white to match the Airport Express, but it would match the apple tv very well. The holder includes several unique mounting options, allowing you to mount it to a wall or the back of your television.

The price seemed steep upon initial review and quite frankly it seems steep when you look at the plastic pieces that come in the package.

HOWEVER, there are less tangible aspects that justify the cost:

1. I had no idea how well the remote would function with the Apple TV out of sight on the back of the TV until I saw the TotalMount video. They deserve something for passing on the concept to me.

2. Though I had my doubts after looking at the back of the my TV while the unit was being shipped, it turns out that they did indeed have a set of clips to fit my set.

3. My Apple TV installation in the TotalMount holder on the back of my TV was complete two minutes after I opened the package.

4. The holder is definitely a minimalist design, but it does the job quite well.

Would I like the price to be lower-certainly! Do I feel they took advantage of me-no. I feel that I bought a concept, a well designed and engineered holder with components for widespread adaptability, a unit that could be installed in minutes, and a unit that gets the job done with the least amount of material. It is rare that I have been able to get something installed this easily and quickly. Very satisfying.
