Review: This subwoofer quit on me in a matter of 4 hours. It took me months to locate how to return this product to Pyle. I finally get it to Pyle for warranty repair (Feb 2012) and have yet to get it back. After 2 weeks and 5 unanswered e-mails to their support e-mail account, I called the number on the website. I was surprised that I could not get through. In fact, the voice mail said their box was full at this was at 8 AM on a Thursday. Scoured the internet and found you have to contact Pyle's parent company Sound Around to ask for tech support. Called for a status and after a half hour, I was told to call back the next day for a status. What? So I did that. The new excuse was that they didn't get their order in for the white speakers. Hmmm. Was asked to call back in 2 weeks for an update. Well, they must have me on caller ID because I cannot get through. Not only am I out the purchase price. I am out the shipping cost to get it there. The $15 money order I had to mail with it. But here's the kicker, I still don't have my subwoofer! PYLE AUDIO IS NOTHING MORE THAN SCAM ARTIST THEIVES. Pyle, you have robbed me! You are not a reputable company! You are a third country back shop operation.
BUYERS BE AWARE. DON'T BUY PYLE EQUIPMENT!!!I wrote customer service of the company asking about wiring two of them together for under the seats of my Jeep. They were great, very nice and answered my question. Once I recieved both only one worked, customer service now would not respond back with why one wasn't working or answer back with anything. I had to pay to ship it back to recieve a new one, once that arrived it worked but then the other stopped working and wasn't able to get it replaced. I've installed many car audio systems, it wasn't the wiring, just a cheaply made product. Theres no way this thing is waterproof or even water resistant, don't waste your money. The generic factory subwoofer in my Jeep sounds better than these do.I installed this sub in my Jeep TJ. It fit right under the driver seat. I also installed a Pyle 2 channel 240 watt marine amp to run my mids. Both work great. When the hardtop is on the Jeep the sub works incredibly well. It is a perfect fill without overkill for a vehicle with these dimensions. In the summer I use a safari top with a tanneau cover. The sub works equally well in this scenario with the tanneau providing some containment for the sound. Without the tanneau cover it still sounds great, but obviously some sound escapes when uncovered. You will be surprised at how well this little amp sounds for its size and shape. I still can't believe it. Two of my friends have purchased this same amp for their Jeeps after hearing mine. I don't listen to much Rap music, but the little I do the sub does alright. It is more suited for rock or blues in my opinion. My wife was terrified I was going to blow her away with an amplified sub. Installed this subwoofer in our cabin sailboat. It backs up two Bose 151 speakers and sounds great. 'Could not be happier. Perfect compliment for the Bose which project mid's and highs. Better yet, she loved it, too. 'Bought a Sony marine head. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to conserve space and balance out the low end (and save money!). Thanks, Pyle.Save your money and don't buy. There isn't much bass and if you turn it up to get more out of it, it distorts like crazy. Mounted this in a utv and don't even notice any sound while running. I returned it and bought a shallow mount kicker sub.
