After waiting for 2 months on Amazon I finally got the WU wireless module from somewhere else by paying an extra $25 and cancelling my order on Amazon.

The module is pretty useful. Super small and comes with a cool case that attaches to your camera strap. Connects via WiFi to your phone (Android for now) and the associated wmau App (Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility) gives you the following 4 functionalities once you are connected Remotely:

1. Use the Camera to take pictures that will be downloaded and to your phone instantly. Take about a sec per pic.

2. Use the phone to take the pictures. can see the camera view live. Only provides the shutter options but it could come handy for taking family pictures on a tripod.

2. Downloads the pictures (temporary memory) for viewing on your phone in seconds. I had about 200 pics that were downloaded in about three seconds. From there you view and select the files that you actually want to download to your phone. Every time you close the app the temp pics will go away. You can select a picture or multiple pictures to download permanently to your phone.

4. You can "share" the downloaded photos. The share option gives you all the usual suspects, Facebook, Gmail, etc.

I like the last two option as I am betting all my techie friends on Facebook are wondering how I posted a family picture via mobile with this quality! :) Little secret iphone10!

Also, overall now that I have taken over 2000 pictures and 20 videos with D3200 all I can say to convey the quality of pictures, ease of use, speed, and other utilities made available in this camera are WOW and Love it! Money well spent and kudos to Nikon.

The connection speed from the camera to the smartphone is extremely slow. Taking a remote picture with the smartphone is delayed, but it works. You really need a tripod or a level surface to adjust your camera on. No changes to settings can be changed on the app, but you can see your speed/exposure information.

The idea is that you can share your pictures instantly. Each picture downloads to your smart phone after you take it. The larger the picture, the longer the transfer. It is not fast at all, even standing next to the camera with the smartphone. You can turn the transfer off, but then all you have is an expensive wireless remote.

Sharing is easy, but over your carriers network.

The mobile adapter connects to the smartphone through the wifi option. If your phone has a "remembered" network like your home wifi, you will need to tell your phone to "forget" that network. What I found is the signal from the Nikon mobile adapter is pretty weak and the connection drops easily. As soon as that happens, my phone would auto connect to my "remembered" network (my home wifi) and drop my camera connection completely.

This switching of the connection causes the app to close out of the camera options. You have to reselect the Nikon mobile adapter to reconnect, I also found that if I did this without closing the app first, my camera would connect, but I couldn't take a remote picture. I would have to exit the app, which drops the connection to the camera, and relaunch, and reselect the camera from my wifi lists (unless I tell my phone to remember the Nikon adapter, but I wouldn't want to do that since I use my home wifi more.).

Overall, this is a neat app. I still kind of like the idea. I am unsure if I will keep it. More options would be better. Adjusting my settings, and the option to switch to video and share video would be great, except it can't do any of that.

I ordered this device when I first picked up my d3200. Finally after 6 weeks of waiting it arrived. I was pleased to see they included a handy compartment that attaches to your camera strap for storage. They also included a little leash so you don't lose this little thing. The device functions flawlessly transferring 14mb images in just a few seconds. My only complaint is the UI of the app could use a little work. I can't seem to find a way to access stored images from my camera on my phone outside of the app.

If I had been paying closer attention I would have waited for the iPhone app to come out before buying this. And it may have even come down in price by then too.

This is a little fun dongle to have with you, but that may be pretty much it for now. The hefty price tag does not justify with the functions as it should be a $20 device at the current level. This is marketed to aim at enthusiast and maybe some intermediate photographers.

Being an iOS user, the new app's interface is just not that pretty and no native iPhone 5 support (meaning it does not support the 5's long screen). Connectivity was simple enough, but staying connected is another story at times. The interface needs a facelift or at least have the option to function and look professional and sophisticated.

I always wonder if these "Wi-Fi" access point modules suffer from data packet loss, like the Eye-fi products. The image quality is good as far as I can tell, but the suffering from loss of connection is more than likely caused by packet loss. These wireless transfer protocols have sophisticated self correcting capabilities, so you will likely not get a distorted image or lowered quality image, but rather good image or no image at all. Which is good I guess? But it would be even better if it can stay connected more. Nikon, Come on!

There is still potential that Nikon can improve the adapter's connectivity with a Firmware update for camera bodies. AND they 100% sure can make the software better, especially for iOS devices!
