I bought an adapter a year ago that wasn't Apple's and it stopped charging my iPod Touch a few months ago. Better to forgo imitations and get the Apple adapter in the first place. Very small and removes easily from the outlet when not in use.

Works as it's suppose too. I use it to charge both my iPOD and iPOD shuffle. I wished it was less money and the prongs folded in, but no complaints.
