Magnetic 0.67X Wide Angle / Macro Lens

I'm an Architect and Realtor, so I need photos of room interiors, exteriors, construction details, etc. Before digital, I had nice SLR cameras with telephoto and wide angle zoom lenses. After digital, I had point-and-shoot cameras, but nothing with a wide angle lens. Lately, I don't even use cameras, but my HTC Evo smart phone, which takes great shots at 8mp. Problem is, I need the occasional wide angle lens.

I was about to buy a $150 point and shoot camera with wide angle lens, but dreading it; not only the cost, but having to carry another "thing" in the car or pocket. Then I found this tiny, magnetic wide angle/macro lens add on. I didn't expect much, but I figured, for $10, I'll try it.

Got it yesterday, and could not believe how perfect it is. In addition to the lens and stick-on magnetic ring (which fits my Evo perfectly,) it came with a nice little lens cover and a magnetic "key ring" holder. It seems to work great! Nice wide angle lens, and amazing close up macro lens for tiny detail.

I'm about to order another 6 for stocking stuffers for all my staff with smart phones. Bravo to this seller!

Ok, so I bought both the $8 model and the $11.50 model. Thinking I could compare the two. They were the exact same A-8001 package. SO lost $5 on that. THey should not allow multiple adv of the same product, will give negative review to seller.

The lens DOES have pretty significant vignetting on the lens in PHOTO mode, but not in video mode. If you are ok with that (ie for fun photos and not business) it is great. See sample photos I am putting up.

Complete piece of junk. The lens does not magnify but just make the image all blurry. The ring does not stay on the phone. Horrible.

I need to do closeup shots of people's eyes. This product fails because the optics are very poor and the ring fails to securely stick to the phone surface. A clear example of "you get what you pay for".

It's a very good product, it has a little hole for the flash for the iphone 4 /4s ... the macro lens is amazing, and the wide angle is also very good... anyway I would recommend this for the people who really like to take pictures with their phones... because there is an improvement with the wide-angle... and specially with the macro... but if you only take picture every now and then and nothing artistic then probably you won't use it that much and you won't see that much of a difference.... if you like artistic photos definitely buy it..
