For $20 this is a reasonable CD player. It looks nice and is easy to operate. It has a useful carry handle but only time will tell how long this will last. It doesn't look that rugged. The sound is tinny but for this price it doesn't bother me. I like the turn knob for tuning the radio to your favorite radio station, unlike our previous CD player/radio the Coby will remember the last radio station you were listening to.The CD player works fine and I like the button for playing songs in random order. The radio is easy to tune and the signal strength seemed pretty good, even with the FM antenna cable still wrapped up.
My only negative point is that when the CD player is switched to the off position there is a noticeable hum coming from the speakers, even with the speaker volume set to the lowest level, this hum does not disappear unless you pull the electrical cord out of the wall. This will become annoying over time so I am docking this two stars. Overall if you're looking for a no frills, cheap and cheerful CD player you could do worse for $20.

This is a very simple little machine and it is precisely what I wanted. What I needed was a small device that I could listen to book CDs. I required a unit with a headphone jack and the ability to use AC power. I also did not want to spend very much. This is has a top-loading CD player with a programmable track memory (CD, CD-R, CD-RW compatible). It does include a radio (AM and FM) which does work quite well even though I have not, nor ever well use it for such as I am not a big radio fan. The antenna is of the wire sort and not the stiff slide-out type...this is a plus as far as I was concerned. It does have a LED display which is large and bright enough for me to see in a dimly lit room and does have a 3.5mm headphone jack. As I said, it has all the features I need and want.
Now make no mistake; if you want high quality sound you should look elsewhere. I played a few musical CDs just to test it and the sound quality is not something you would get up and shout about. It has a rather tinny quality as a matter of fact. Actually, for listening to music, it is pretty wretched in my opinion. It is also not very loud and if you crank up the volume...well, there just is not much there. It works fine for my books, listening to it via a nice set of headphones and that is all I wanted. It is small, as these things go and does not take up much room, which is another feature I was looking for.
It does use 6 "C" batteries if you wish to go that route. I tried the battery route and it works fine.
The knobs are easy to use, easy to locate and not overly complicated which was another feature I desired.
I chose the blue model simply because it is a sort of unique color and when this thing finally goes belly-up, something all machines and electronic devices I touch do, I can smash it up and use the little blue pieces of plastic to do my "junk-yard art" with...they will make a fantastic addition to a mosaic piece.
I suppose that whether or not you are happy with this unit will all depend upon your expectations. This IS NOT a piece of high tech stereo equipment and if you expect it to perform at that level you will be disappointed. No, this is a cheap little CD player that is simple to use and is great for listening to books on CDs.

The OzarksThis radio is at a great price and just the right size. It is small enough for an end table or to take to the beach or to the pool.My son loves this boom-box that is reminiscent from the olden days! Great sound and very portable! Great value for the money!
