Since I bought the truck used, I only had one keyless entry remote & thought it would be good to have another one as a back-up, emergency, etc.

Everything I read prior to ordering indicated that this item was easy to program.

Well, I ordered it as it was a better price than charged by locksmiths and MUCH better than a dealership. I followed the instructions EXACTLY, but not only did the new keyless entry remote not program properly, the procedures actually deactivated the keyless entry remote that I already had been using successfully.

Luckily I found a good locksmith who programmed both keyless entry remotes (my original & this extra one) for only $10. Had I bought the remote from them, they would've charged $40 for remote & programming.

So, in the long run, with the low price of this item ordered via Amazon, I was still better off financially than if I had bought everything from the locksmith. However, I am always disappointed when something (i.e., programming) doesn't work as advertised, and I am inconvenienced as a result.

It actually came really fast and is brand new in shape. The instructions were easy to follow and it was easy to program. The only problem i have is that it does not work well from even 5 feet away from my vehicle. It would be nice if it had some distance to the remote and it worked better. But overall i like what i have purchased!

Key fob did not work. Instructions say it does not work with Ford. Waste of money. Says I have to take it to a ford dealer to get programmed. They will charge me the same as buying it there.

Saved money by not going back to the dealer. Easy to set. Took only a few minutes and it was done.
