This unit has worked well in a commercial space with quite a bit of traffic. Its ability to select a single "bong" and adjust its volume helps the staff stay sane. Its wireless connection works reliably over quite a distance around equipment and through a wall.

However, the very wide view angle of the sensor (40 x 140 degrees per the manufacturer) makes it necessary to locate and aim the sensor carefully to avoid false positives from floor reflections or people walking near but not through the door. Also per the manufacturer, it is possible to narrow that view angle by judicious placement of strips of electrical tape to block the edges of the window; keep making the remaining peephole smaller until you get the right result.

Works fine, Chime can be set real loud to soft. It is a bit too sensitive so you might have to play around with locations. It does the job as well if not better than I expected.

This unit works as expected, but the motion sensor is so sensitive that it alerts on nearby RF signals from two-way radios (yes, RF interference is possible with PIR sensors). The highly sensitive sensor in this unit offers a larger range of area for detection, but also makes it vulnerable to false alerts. The simple fix would be to reduce the sensitivity of the sensor, but this unit does not offer a sensitivity adjustment for the sensor. (Note that this problem has nothing to do with changing the frequency channel between the sensor/transmitter and the receiver, which is used to send a signal AFTER motion is detected by the sensor). I replaced this STI unit with another brand that has a sensitivity control and I was able to adjust the sensor to trigger properly. Given my experience with this STI unit, I would not purchase any motion sensor that does not offer a sensitivity control.

Additional Note: There are no adjustments that can be made to this unit to compensate for the lack of a sensitivity control for RF interference.

This motion activated chime works great. I made the mistake of getting the Driveway Patrol for $10 cheaper (another motion chime) and had to return it after one day.

It has 10 or so different chimes and can catch anything moving day or night.

It goes through walls about 35feet or so. The chime plugs into the wallsocket, so it's always on to let you know if something is there.

I highly recommend getting this chime!

I'm very pleased with this product for what we are wanting it to do. I have it set up in my place of employment to detect people walking into our front door. This has really helped us be more aware of customers entering when we can't see them. It comes with many different chimes, but unless you want to hear a song like "Happy Birthday" every time someone comes in your door, you will probably want to stick with the basic single chime. I also like the volume control, which some models do not have. The lowest volume is perfect for us.
