Firstly, note what you are buying. If you want something easy to install, more and more wireless options are available, as are the over the license plate cameras. This one requires a drilled hole to mount it. Mine did come with the hole saw, which some others noted as being absent. The reverse output (mirrored) or not function is achieved by connection two control wires together. Therefore, you could run these to a switch if you really wanted to do that. I could't get mine to show the the black lined grid, but I don't care--I didn't want that anyway, and was just trying to see what it would look like on the screen. Speaking of the screen, it is not widescreen. Thus, I have an unused portion of my in dash video screen because my screen is of course widescreen. Ultimately, given the price, as a playtoy, this is a great deal. If I was really serious about attaining the best and widest view possible, and price wasn't a big deal, then go ahead and pay $150++ for name brand camera with a wider field of view. But as a supplementary viewing option, this is great. Might want some Rain-X on it though ;)

I bought this camera as a forward facing camera to use while off road driving. Although no real instructions for installation, it is really simple to do. Gives a decent image. Only thing that I didn't care for is the "night" mode. The LED lights made a halo around the image so you only see what is in the middle of the screen. I do not plan on using it at night often so not an issue, but for a person installing as a backup camera, you might consider this.

I scheduled an appointment for a professional installation for a front camera install. After a couple hours and the removal and reinstall of the front of my car, I had gotten a brand new in sealed package broken camera. I am paying labor and I was stuck having no choice but to have to buy a higher cost for a like product with less features that worked so I would not eat the high labor charge. This was a dual camera install front and rear of the car, two different camera styles both by the same maker.

The problem was after the lens was set and wires were weather coated the connection to my Lockpick C8 had no picture on the Dodge Charger UConnect system. The installer made sure the rear worked and it did. then rechecked the connections for the front camera. Nothing but a grey screen, after troubleshooting, he did a temp hook up of another unit they had and it worked. Well the camera looked new and had no signs of any issues. So it tacked an extra hour of labor ($45) and another camera ($79).

Thanks for nothing Pyle, for this piece of junk and added expense.

Backing up on different job sites was a problem with my F350, so I got this little camera/monitor to help me out, and I think everyone should have one. I read online about people having difficulties installing these and am wondering about their competency. It took me all of 15 minutes to connect the wires, adjust the camera and it was up and running. Driving around, I always use my rear view and side mirrors, but they don't have the extra view when I need. With this camera, I no longer have to crane my neck around. Excellent design and it's nice to have an eye out the tail pipe!

When my daughter got her license and inherited the Jeep Cherokee, I knew I had to give her a little help for the parallel parking she'll inevitably have to do in Seattle. Installing the Pyle was a bit tricky at first, but when I got it setup, I felt a lot better. The LCD screen is great and the LED lights makes seeing in the dark easier. Using a rear view mirror, it's hard to judge those last couple of feet, especially in the Cherokee which towers over most city cars, but the Pyle gives a clear readout of the distance. There are a lot more expensive models out there, but this is a high quality camera and if fully weather proof and the screen is as good as any. I was so impressed by it, I just ordered another one for our Sedan!
