I got this for my husband for our anniversary to go in our new boat. We both love this handy fish finder! It's accurate for speed and water temp and we can plot our favorite fishing hot spots and look them up with ease while in the boat. Hooking it up took no time at all once we decided exactly where we wanted to mount the transducer. Love the dual screen feature! Can't say enough good about this unit! So glad we got it! Once we got back home, we had recieved a catalogue from a local competitor and they had the monochrome version "on sale" for just about as much as we gave for our awsome unit plus paying for overnight shipping. I just hooked up my 587ci HD DI and couldn't be happier. I noticed a few reviews saying the down imaging is not as advertised, but I found it to look and function even better than advertised. The 4" screen is fine for me, but of course 5" would be nice (at least $100 more with 597ci HD DI). The split screen views are great. Installation was straight forward. I took my time and spent a couple of hours tying cables and getting everything just right. Only complaint I would have is that it seems to have no data on the lakes that I fish. I ordered the Navionics Hotmaps Premium 2012. This finder can only run Lake Master software, or Navionics: Gold, Hotmaps, or Hotmaps Premium. Premium means the software is the most up to date. It's too bad Humminbird discontinued this product. It was very hard for me to find at a reasonable price since they replaced this unit with the 587ci HD (no down imaging).

Got this as a gift for my GF Dad and helped him install this on his 17ft boat. This has a great screen and very clear. Install was extremly easy to do and only took 40 minutes to do. Onced installed only takes 10 minutes on the water to set up to your preferances. You could spend hours playing with all the features that this has to offer. I love that you can turn off the views you dont like or use in the menu so you only see the ones you want. I will be getting this one or the one bigger when i get my new boat. i would recomend this to anyone with a boat. We spent like 4 hours driving around the lake playing with the down imaging.

I don't have the cash or space to store a boat, but there are plenty of rentals around here. When I saw the "Fishin' Buddy" I was really happy. This was exactly what I was looking for.

I was afraid that such an inexpensive product would underperform. I was not disappointed! The screen shows great detail, (on the 110) and when fish were marked, many times I got a bite!

I was afraid of going cheap on the 110. I love it! After using it twice this year so far, I couldn't imagine fishing without it!

I have used the 120 model on 8 to 10 all day fishing trips so far and have been very happy with it. The setup and operation is simple enough for anyone to figure out, but also has enough different settings and ranges to make it useful just about anywhere. The unit runs on 6 AA batteries and I get about three 10 hour days one one set. Carry an extra set with you because when they die you only get about 1 minutes notice. I have been using mine from a kayak trout fishing in Colorado and the portability is great. The side finder is a great feature and one that I find myself constantly using but, the narrow view(all models are the same)is why it gets a 4 star rating instead of 5.

Overall this is a great fishfinder for a portable unit, and I would highly recommend it if you do not have the option for a permanant mount and a 12 volt system.

Super easy to use, just turn on. Unit picks out individual fish with its depth and size. Shows bottom structure in detail. Light weight, easy to transport. LCD display fairly clear in the bright sun. Could be easier to tilt up for moving across lake. Over all, functions well for the price.

Broke my old fish finder so thought I would try out the newer model from Humminbird. Unit works as advertised and is lighter weight than the older model. Gave it 3 stars because the fish alarm only works for the bottom sonar, not the side sonar. The older unit's fish alarm worked for both sonar fields. Not having the alarm for the side sonar is inconvenient since you have to constantly keep an eye on the unit in order to see if any fish are to your side. If the company can provide a quick fix for this for everyone who bought one of these, I would give it 5 stars. Electronically, this can't be too hard to remedy.

I fly fish a lot of lakes and use this on my 9' Bucks Bags pontoon boat. I attribute a full 50% of my fishing success to this fish finder. I rely on the depth finder feature more than anything else.....all the rest are just bonuses. Feeding trout like shallow water (where their food sources are located). I have noticed that it will give false fish readings when I enter shallow water less than 10' or so, as it will pick up every weed growing off the bottom. I know I'm too shallow when it suddenly beeps continuously and displays a constant parade of fish! The side finder feature, with it's 60' range, has saved the day on a few occasions by letting me know whether the fish are shallower or deeper that day. It's a great indicator of fish activity, too. When the fish are very active and moving aggressively, the side finder shows it, as it becomes very active. I can actually see their distance as they move to/from the boat, as the display distance rapidly changes. On slow fish activity days, the side finder is mostly inactive and silent. With good alkaline batteries, I can get 35-40 hours of operating time and only have to change the batteries every 10th trip or so. To be fair, when I'm anchored and into fish, I shut it off. My only issue with this finder, and the other portables I've owned over the years, is the thin wires on the battery pack and the connections. In my experience, they are the first things to fail! One must use extreme care in changing batteries, and be careful not to put too much pressure on these wires, or bend them in any way.

I have enjoyed using this unit. If you can afford a larger one I would highly reccommend it. Internal map is not the greatest so figure on getting navtronics chip for $149.00 Gps and the trails have gotten me out of trouble more than once already. When hydrilla closed in on entry into an opening off Caddo lake I was able to find where I had entered by using the trail it made. If you know that lake you know how easy it is to get lost (everything looks the same). Still learning to interpret side imaging. Other than wishing I could have afforded a larger size I am very satisfied.

This watch was inexpensive, I ordered it mid March 2011, so I waited 7 months to review it. I figured it would be broken or not working by now. I have no issues with it, and would tell a friend to purchase it. The watch will tell you when the moon is straight over head, rising and setting, and on the other side of the globe. In the window that shows you the fish (1 fish= poor fishing and 4 fish = good fishing) the watch shows you the times each happens for the day. The watch goes thru 5 windows/screens. The first is how good the current fishing is calculated to be at the time now. It then quickly flashes to screen 1, which shows how the fishing will be at a future time today, it does this thru 4 screens. Screen 1 gives you the time the moon is straight over head, screen 2 the setting of the moon, screen 3 the time the moon is on the opposite side of the globe, and screen 4 the rising of the moon! It gives you sunrise and sunset times directly. So, if you're interested in an inexpensive watch that has sunrise, moon rise, sunset and moon set this is it. Great for meteor watching or other astronomy pursuits where the moon tends to blot out all but the brightest objects. The back light is a cool blue.

I really liked the style on this watch which did not come through on the advertisements. It was fairly easy to set up once you did the homework for longitude and latitude etc. I did have to send it back because the "B" button fell out during set up.

I bought this watch as a gift for my husband. When it came I was happy to see it had a large face and was readable. Unfortunately, that does not include the instruction manual. Even using a magnifying glass I cannot read how to set the watch. The watch is marketed as a "GSI Super Quality Outdoor Fishfinder Wrist Mount Digital Watch", but the box said it is an "ATECH". I cannot find a GSI website and the ATECH website doesn't even list the watch as one of theirs. Maybe if they had a shorter name they could have used bigger print in the manual. If anyone knows how to find instructions a normal person can read, please tell me where to find them. I am very disappointed with this watch.

Updated from original review. We scanned the instruction book into an Adobe Document which allowed us to make it large enough to read. The watch works well now that we have set it properly. He likes it so that is all that counts.

I had my hopes up when i bought this, but i quickly realized that i got myself $40 of useless plastic. The most reliable sensor in this device is the temperature. When tested along side other thermometers it was +-1F, which is pretty good. Unfortunately that's all that's good.

The rest of the sensors are totally unreliable, which consequently makes them utterly useless. I was really hoping that the barometer will be accurate, but even after calibrating it, 30 minutes later it is off by a lot e.g. it reads 30.59in when the pressure is actually 30.13in. The bigger problem is that even the difference is not consistent, sometimes it is less so it's impossible to rely on. I didn't bother to use the moon/tide options as i live in the Midwest and have no access to sea/oceans so i cant comment on these.

The altimeter is a total joke basically it thinks that you are gaining altitude every time a low pressure front goes through my area i live at 800ft altitude and i've seen the device to displaying altitudes between 600 and 1100ft. that's quite the range, obviously a big draw back. There are some options to track altitude gain/losses, e.g. while trekking, but considering the inaccuracy of the unit, it's not even worth using these.

The humidity meter is a big disappointment as well. it would not measure anything higher than 50% humidity. even when i made the room feel like a sauna it would only show 45-50% humidity.

So after all this, this device turns into a rather expensive thermometer definitely not worth the money.

i see that the company has listed this product under a slightly different product name i'm guessing to ged rid of the bad reviews that were piled up on the original listing. Too bad because this is junk!

I would not recommend this device even to an enemy. stay away!

Great product! Easy to load, use and most importantly read. Found the solar/lunar information to match almost exactly with tables and other information that can be found on line. Good tool for looking at when is the best time to fish and get bites. Very pleased with the item. Previous item that I owned from another company was similar but was difficult to use and hard to read (as well a quit working and no longer made). The PFHS2 is a quantum improvement.

Great tool with loads of information. Once you get it all set it tells you anything you want to know about the outdoors. I have no problem with settings dropping when unit is bumped and no issues with the alarms. Fun compact little tool.

Great unit, easy to install if you have a rough idea on installing electronics. Unit is a pleasure to use and has a ton of features and settings for basic or advanced operation.

A good transom mount installation is needed for success. Otherwise structure scan won't work aswell as it can.
